Settling in...

We have had a busy week. Jim started his new sport - Biathalon on Wednesday and the girls got to shoot while he was out there and decided that they wanted to join The Bears Biathalon Club as well.
I had my first planning meeting for the Arctic Winter Games kick-off party that is next Friday.
Annabelle had a substitute teacher for 4 days this week and that was quite an adventure - more fist fighting and waiting for the class to quiet down for 30 minutes!!
Jacqueline is breezing along - not too much to report from her.
Yesterday we all went to a haunted house that was put on by a local school - it was good. Then we went for a drive up north to Takhini Hotsprings - we didn't go in the pools this time, but soon we will be back up there. We stopped at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, but had just missed the cut off for the walking tour. Then stopped by Lake Leberge and checked it out.
This morning we curled in the Big Brother and Sisters "Curl for Kids Sake". It was quite the adventure - since I am the only one that has ever thrown a rock before. Our first game really was interesting - we did not score a point, but the second game was better and we only lost 3-2.
The ice is finally re-opened at the Canada Game Centre after being closed since June when two 12 year old girls lit a fire and caused about 6 million dollars worth of damage. Only one of the rinks are opened, but the other one whould be opened soon. The girls can't wait to get out and skate!
The weather has been unusually mild for October, but the temp is supposed to drop quickly this week with an estimated low of -20c (-4F) by friday - with a high of -10c (14F). That seems chilly.....
I will transfer some more photos soon and put them up...
Miss you all ~ Tara
